Dr Aprine graduated from the National University of Singapore Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine in 2012, and completed her Masters in Sports Medicine, Exercise and Health from University College London in 2019, majoring in performing arts injuries with a thesis on tendon injuries in ballet dancers.
She served as a Sports Medicine physician in Sengkang General Hospital from 2018 to 2022, and obtained her post graduate certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound from the Singapore Technological Institute. Dr Aprine is qualified to perform ultrasound guided injections and non-surgical treatments for various musculoskeletal conditions on knee, tennis elbow, and frozen shoulder, utilising state of the art technology such as orthobiologics, hyaluronic acid injections and shockwave therapy. She treats athletes and sports enthusiasts, from weekend warriors to professionals, ensuring that they return to their game in the shortest amount of time. As a keen Pilates practitioner, she has also trained in STOTT mat and reformer Pilates.
In her post-graduate years, Dr Aprine has completed rotations in various specialties including Orthopaedic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Plastic Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine. She has served in Sengkang General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital, KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital, Changi General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
She now practises at Somerset GP and has interest in care of the general population including acute and chronic diseases. She also provides holistic medical care including women’s and men’s health, health screening and vaccinations, in addition to managing to musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr Aprine is a member of the Royal College of Surgeons and is trained to perform minor surgeries. With her keen interest in wound care, she has also published internationally on wound healing in foot infections, through use of cutting-edge technologies. She is also a qualified aesthetic doctor accredited by the Aesthetic Dermatology Education Group.
As an avid dancer, she is trained in ballet, contemporary, and aerial dance, and has performed professionally in commercial shows both locally and overseas. She is part of the Sports Medicine Association Singapore Performing Arts Medicine special interest group and has given workshops and lectures on injury prevention in dancers for organisations such as SCAPE and NUS Centre for the Arts.
In her free time, she also loves doing Muay Thai and fitness workouts. She is currently enjoying motherhood and bonding with her baby, while being an advocate for pre- and post-natal health and fitness.
